Dragoon was a military term used during the Medieval / Renaissance period to describe an Infantryman that rode a horse to battle. They were not Cavalry, but could travel and deploy at the same speed. They generally left their mounts behind the line of battle and and marched into the conflict. In a time period without Airmobile insertion, they were the MIKE force of their day!
Why am I "7dragoon?"
Well, I play Rainbow Six, Eagle Watch, Rogue Spear, Urban Ops, Covert Ops, Black Thorn, and Ghost Recon on the Internet, and am also a Renaissance era Artisan and Performer. I figured since I mix the best of both worlds (In my opinion), and I needed a name for multiplayer gaming, Dragoon would suffice. Well, like almost every other word you can think of on the 'net, someone beat me to it :-) So, I skipped the long process and went straight to 7dragoon because I like the # 7. So there it is!
